The Math Department

The math department comes in second place a hair behind the social studies department. Students find that the math department is very straightforward because there is always a right or wrong answer, never opinions in this subject. Girls dominate this department by one teacher. The whole math department works as one and so they all teach each other their different ways of looking at things.


Students like the math teachers because not only do they see them in the classroom but they also see teachers all around the school with sports coaches in the department. With Mr. Boyle as the J.V. boys soccer coach and Mr. Gerard as the cross-country and swimming coach. There is also Mr. Dennis as the girl’s basketball coach and Mr. Palmer as the boy’s Basketball coach they all have the team work that it takes to teach a bunch of teenagers.

“The math teachers always know what they are talking about and they have a calm atmosphere about them,” said Sophomore Cathy Reid. The math department has the secrets to work together that we as students take for granted sometimes.

The math department works so well together that it’s impossible to catch them on a bad day as a whole. There might be a sour apple every now and then but then they see their colleagues they cheer up and so not to bring their students down because they know that. It’s a good thing to have the kids be in a good mood in order for them to learn.
